na jei gerai atkurtu ISS tai as tikrai noreciau tenai apsilankyt.

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA, 24th February, 2015 – Opaque Multimedia currently strictly announced Earthlight, a tech demo designed to denote a immersive energy of a Oculus Rift joined with a Kinect 2. Earthlight will be accessible during a Opaque Multimedia counter during GDC 2015, with a open recover to follow.

Earthlight is a first-person scrutiny diversion where a players stairs into a boots of an wanderer on a International Space Station (ISS) where, from 431 kilometres above, they demeanour down on a Earth from within a comfort of their possess spacesuit.

Featuring a many picturesque depiction of a International Space Station used in an interactive VR sourroundings to-date, Earthlight demonstrates a unequivocally boundary of what is visually practicable in consumer-oriented VR experiences.

In Earthlight, players correlate with a sourroundings wholly by a healthy suit interface, pulling and pulling themselves along a aspect of a ISS as they navigate a network of handles and scaffolds.

The player’s suit is prisoner by a Microsoft Kinect 2 and powered by a company’s Kinect 4 Unreal technology.

“Visiting a International Space Station, floating openly in space, is a dream of many though a existence gifted by usually a few.” Said Professor Christopher Fluke, Coordinator of a Virtual Reality Theatre during a Centre of Astrophysics and Supercomputing during Swinburne University during a pre-release proof of Earthlight.

“Earthlight is a honestly enchanting experience.  Within moments of putting on a Oculus Rift headset, we was prepared to stand out onto a aspect of a Space Station and start exploring. we am vehement by a intensity for interactive practical practice to play a larger purpose in bringing dreams of space scrutiny to life.”

“It’s been a genuine plea to emanate a pleasing UX when you’re perplexing to mix VR with kinetic input.” says Chris Mackenzie, one of a group members obliged for formulating a worldly physique mapping complement that underlies Earthlight. “We have to compensate tighten courtesy to a series of opposite factors that we don’t routinely have to comment for in required VR projects, quite proprioception.”

“Proprioception is a recognition of a position of your physique and joints” Chris explains. “When we reinstate people’s physique with a practical avatar that mimics their movement, we need to safeguard that what they’re saying matches what they consider their limbs are doing, differently it creates for a deeply unfortunate experience”.

“We have unequivocally pushed both a program and a hardware to their limit.” Says Norman Wang, Earthlight Project Lead and Art Director during Opaque Multimedia. “We unequivocally did put a Kinect 2 by a paces. The Kinect is already flattering good normally, though when you’re in a VR sourroundings where you’re staring during a span of practical arms that are centimetres from a camera, we had to discharge even a smallest bit of jitter while gripping a make-believe responsive.”

Earthlight will be accessible during a Opaque Multimedia counter during GDC 2015, with a open recover to follow.
