Steve Jobs Biography By Walter Isaacson Launch Brought Up To October 24th, Pre-Orders Jump 53,555%

According to a report published today, Steve Jobs’ authorized biography Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson will be launching earlier than planned as its release date has been moved up to October 24th, about a month earlier than the previous date which was November 21st.

The news comes from a report by Associated Press – a respected American news agency – which states that Simon & Schuster – publishers of Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson – have announced today that the book will be releasing on October 24th.

The biography is seeing great interest after Steve Jobs passed away yesterday due to cancer. The biography currently holds the top spot on Amazon and is third on Barnes & Noble. Pre-orders have apparently increased by a whopping 53,555% (at the time of writing).

Steve Jobs: A Biography has been written by Walter Isaacson - a prominent journalist who has served positions such as Chairman and CEO, CNN and Managing Director, TIME Magazine. The biography is based on over 40 interviews conducted with Steve Jobs over a period of two years as well as “more than a hundred” interviews with friends and family, rivals and co-workers.

From iBooks:

Based on more than forty interviews with Jobs conducted over two years—as well as interviews with more than a hundred family members, friends, adversaries, competitors, and colleagues—Walter Isaacson has written a riveting story of the roller-coaster life and searingly intense personality of a creative entrepreneur whose passion for perfection and ferocious drive revolutionized six industries: personal computers, animated movies, music, phones, tablet computing, and digital publishing.

As many of you already know, Steve Jobs passed away yesterday. The news came directly from Apple in the form of an email sent out by CEO Tim Cook to team members. We were all shocked here at Redmond Pie. Steve Jobs, like any other human, had to go away some day, but we never expected him to leave us so very early.

I myself came across the news early in the morning. It was a horrible, horrible way to start the day and I couldn’t really think straight for ten minutes or so. Still, life has to go on. Apple may not feel the same without Steve Jobs, but we believe his vision and overall influence on his team will ensure that Apple continues to pump out destructively innovative products like the iMac, iPod, iPhone and iPad.

Steve Jobs’ Last Big Project Wasn’t The iPhone 4S, It Was The Redesigned iPhone 5 [REPORT]

Contrary to what you may believe, the iPhone 4S was not the last project Jobs worked on. In fact, the next generation iPhone (iPhone 5?) was the last project Steve Jobs worked on before departing from this world.

Nuotrauka

For this article’s sake, I will refer to the next iPhone as the iPhone 5. With that, and the fact that it was the last project Steve worked on, its expected that this upcoming generation will be a complete overhaul of the phone with possibility of Long Term Evolution, or LTE, often referred to as 4G. I believe its safe to assume that the iPhone 5 will include a bigger screen and a slimmer profile just like it has been rumored in the past numerous times. It was said that Steve spent his last days working on this project; leaving the iPhone 4S to other teammates as he knew his time was short.

Ashok Kumar, an analyst at Rodman & Renshaw, expects that the iPhone 5 will become a ‘cult classic’ due to the fact that it was Steve’s last project. With that, I expect Apple iPhone sales will sky rocket and surpass the current iPhone 4S launch day sales.

It may be safe to say that the iPad 3 could pave the way for possible hardware upgrades coming to the iPhone 5. We could see the likes of a new processor, memory capacity, an improved gyroscope and accelerometer etc. Keep in mind it is purely speculation at this point in time, but we know it will be a major cosmetic and internal upgrade to what Apple is providing currently. Personally I look forward to updates to iOS and how they will support the new hardware and what new advancements it will bring. Will we see iOS 6 by then? Or will we remain on iOS 5 with some tweaks?

With talks about how large this project was, its understandable why the iPhone 4S remained as a subtle upgrade to its predecessor. The iPhone 5 should live up to the hype and continue to be the best phone on the market. Expect to see the newest generation of iPhone some time around Apple’s Developer Conference next Summer. Let’s hope that service providers will allow an upgrade option outside of the normal guidelines for those of us who have upgraded to the iPhone 4S on a 2-year contract. I guess we will have to wait and see! Oh what a long wait it will be!

Moo, tau jau reiktų pailsėti ir pagyventi be tų apple. Tu jau išvis pablūdai, nuo proto nušokai. Mirė tas Stevas, taip liūdna, bet tu žliumbi lyg jis tavo tėvas būtų. Gal ne čia parašiau, bet nežinojau kur išreikšti nuomonę.
