About AzPlay

AzPlay is an event that has been organised by Azkuna Zentroa since its first edition in 2010. In its eight edition in 2017, Azkuna Zentroa yet again puts the spotlight on creativity as one of the main elements of the video game industry. The question of combining art and technology is one of the key lynchpins in the Azkuna Zentroa cultural agenda.



Azkuna Zentroa houses one of the city’s most representative buildings, a cultural and leisure space with a varied offering for everyone visiting it. A meetingpoint to share, learn and enjoy different cultural, leisure and sporting proposals, individually, in groups or as a family, which are suitablefor all publics.



The 43,000 sq m of Azkuna Zentroa are located in the city’s former wine warehouse. A building with a modernist air, declared an “Asset of Cultural Interest” by the Basque Government in 1999,where past, present and future all merge into one. The façades and part of the space designed by the Bilbao architect Ricardo Bastida at the beginning of the 20th century have been retained and refurbished. The outside classic style contrasts with the interior urban space, designed in a singular, innovative and sober way by Philippe Starck, which crystallises thelife and energy of the city of Bilbao.



Exhibitions, concerts, lectures, children’s workshops, physical activities of all kinds, a reading area, a place to have a coffee… Azkuna Zentroa has a wide variety of things on every day, thanks to its programme of activities and events of multiple disciplines and its extensive opening times.
