Samsung to Rethink New Tablets After Seeing iPad 2

Nuotrauka

South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reports (via AsiaPulse) that Apple's iPad 2 introduction has forced Samsung to reconsider its plans for its forthcoming Galaxy Tab 10.1, a larger version of its initial 7-inch Galaxy Tab that is intended to offer a more similar form factor to the iPad. According to a Samsung executive, the company is looking to improve the specs of the device to be more competitive with the iPad 2.

Lee Don-joo, executive vice president of Samsung's mobile division, said that Apple has presented new challenges for the South Korean company with a thinner mobile gadget that is priced the same as its predecessor.

"We will have to improve the parts that are inadequate," Lee told Yonhap News Agency. "Apple made it very thin."

But technical specs are not the only issue facing Samsung with the Galaxy Tab 10.1, as the company also must address pricing issues that currently will make it difficult for the device to compete against the iPad 2.

The 7-inch Galaxy Tab was priced at nearly US$900 without a two-year contract from mobile operators, while the price of the iPad 2 starts at $499, with the most expensive model costing $829. Samsung did not announce the pricing details for the 10.1-inch tablet.

"The 10-inch (tablet) was to be priced higher than the 7-inch (tablet) but we will have to think that over," Lee added.

Apple made a number of references to the tablet competition during its iPad 2 introduction earlier this week, making a point to illustrate Apple's hardware and software head start and pricing advantages over competitors' offerings. Apple's iPad 2 comes to market even as some competitors have yet to begin shipping their first round of tablet devices announced in some cases many months ago.

Ottt... :)

Test Shows iPad 2 with iOS 4.3 Incredibly Faster Than iPad 1

Nuotrauka

Surprise: the iPad 2 running iOS 4.3 is faster than the original iPad running iOS 4.2. According to CNET UK, which had the chance to run a JavaScript SunSpider benchmark test on the iPad 2 during a brief demo at San Francisco, the iPad 2 will outperform the competition and even other Apple’s devices when it comes to web browsing experience and overall snappiness of the browser application. The SunSpider test is usually a good test of how a browser will perform with “heavy” webpages with lots of content and functionalities such as Facebook.

Indeed, Apple itself promotes the new Nitro JavaScript engine that powers Safari on iOS 4.3 as “twice as fast” than its predecessor on iOS 4.2. The original iPad, however, also comes with a slower and non-dual core processor (Apple A4), whilst the iPad 2 will get a dual-core A5 and likely more RAM. These hardware features, together with the iOS 4.3, should make the device a lot faster than iPad 1, iPhone 4 and several Android tablets out in the market or coming soon.

Incidentally, when you compare the iPad to the other devices we tested, Android phones and tablets don’t come out particularly well. The Galaxy Tab is more than 3x slower than the iPad 2 in this test, and about 2x slower than the original iPad with the new software. The Google Nexus S smart phone doesn’t fare too well either, at nearly 3x slower than the iPad 2. There’s really good news for iPhone 4 owners out there: when it arrives, iOS 4.3 will deliver a 2.5x speed increase in this test.

The one device we’d like to test, but can’t, is the Motorola Xoom. This tablet has a dual-core processor and runs the latest version of Android, 3.0 Honeycomb.

We will get our iPad 2′s next week and we’ll make sure to run some tests as well to see how the new tablet is really faster than other devices with iOS 4.3 and the iPad 1.

Wahahaha

Tai kad negreitesnis. :D 800MHz pas jį. :D

Nemanau ar jį galima laikyti konkurentu, nes tikrai atsilieka nuo kitų, ne tik nuo iPad. :D

    • When you play Path of Exile 2, items are more than just gear—they are the core of your power. No matter which build you choose, some PoE 2 items are simply must-haves if you want to level faster, survive longer, and deal higher damage. Let’s go through the most important ones, how to use them, and where to get them so you can be fully prepared. First, every player should focus on strong weapons. For melee builds, a high physical damage two-handed axe or sword can carry you through early and mid-game. For spellcasters, a wand or staff that boosts spell damage or elemental damage makes a huge difference. Don’t ignore attack speed or cast speed, as those stats let you deal more hits per second. If you plan ahead, you can buy PoE 2 items that fit your build so you don’t waste time farming endlessly. Second, armor and defenses matter just as much. A good chest piece with life, resistances, and armor or evasion will keep you alive in tough fights. Helmets that grant skill bonuses are also very valuable. Try to upgrade your gear regularly—don’t wear a low-level item for too long. Many experienced players suggest keeping backup resist rings to swap when facing bosses with strong fire, cold, or lightning attacks. This simple trick saves lives. Third, let’s talk about flasks. In PoE 2, flasks are not just healing tools. Some increase movement speed, remove curses, or give extra armor for a short time. Having the right flask setup often makes the difference between victory and death. For example, a quicksilver flask helps you move faster, while a life flask with instant recovery can save you during sudden damage spikes. These small PoE 2 items may look simple, but they are powerful tools when used wisely. Another must-have is currency items used for crafting. Even if you’re not a crafter, you should collect Orbs of Alteration, Chaos Orbs, and Exalted Orbs. These let you improve gear or trade for better equipment. Smart players often buy PoE 2 items using currency instead of relying only on random drops. This shortcut speeds up progress and lets you focus more on enjoying the game instead of grinding for hours. If you’re unsure where to start, many players recommend checking trusted marketplaces like u4gm, where you can buy PoE 2 items safely and find exactly what you need for your build. Just remember to always match your gear with your playstyle. Finally, here’s a small pro tip: always think about your next step. If you’re building a summoner, prepare minion-boosting items early. If you’re playing a bow build, invest in quivers with damage over time bonuses. Planning ahead means you never fall behind. In short, collecting the right PoE 2 items is the secret to smoother gameplay. Strong weapons, solid armor, smart flask choices, and proper crafting currency will put you ahead of other players. Whether you loot them or buy PoE 2 items, make sure you don’t miss these essentials. The earlier you prepare, the easier your journey through Wraeclast will be.
