Ech, custom rom's FTW.

Android 4.1 ( Jelly Bean)

Google Announces Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

It’s official! Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is coming.

First thoughts after Ice Cream Sandwich came out were that Jelly Bean would be known as Android 5.0, however as the new operating system rolls off features that we currently see with Ice Cream Sandwich, it makes sense for the new operating system update by Google to be known as Android 4.1 instead.

With over 400 million Android Devices activated, according to Google at the Google I/O event, there will be a lot of devices craving this latest update. In all honesty, I am quite happy with the features available on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and they meet the needs of today, however there are one or two bugs. It may be that Android is worried about the upcoming release of iOS 6, and how it could have an impact on sales, so they are stepping it up a notch to deliver us an even better system to use on our devices.

Google are showing the transition between our current Android operating system and the upcoming update as Project Butter, due to the fact that Google wishes to make Android “as smooth as butter”. Sounds good to me, I quite like butter.

So, what’s new?

Homescreen will be improved, with widgets resizing to look better

Apps conform around widgets

Voice Typing will be active, advanced speech recognition

Adding to that, Voice Typing will have Error Detection, so if you say a word like “there”, and in the sentence it should be “their”, it will automatically correct itself due to context. How cool is that?

In notifications you will be able to “Like” and +1 stuff

Search is being changed, with a feature much like Siri perhaps being integrated

The SDK is already available, and the update will be hitting the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S and Xoom devices in Mid July using Over The Air technology

The long-awaited roll-out appears to have commenced, with lucky GS III owners in Poland being among the first to get an early official taste of Android 4.1.1. If you hadn't heard, the update will bring a host of subtle yet powerful improvements, including Google Now for anticipating search queries, smooth UI improvements from Project Butter, as well as some Samsung extras already seen on the Galaxy Note II, such as a resizable Pop-up play screen. Hopefully this means the update will soon be sent on its merry way to GS IIIs in other parts of the Old World, and maybe at some point -- dare we suggest it -- those in the US too.

Now that Samsung has commenced beaming Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean OTA toward deserving Galaxy S III customers, it's announced a raft of other devices set to receive the buttery OS in the near future. On the list are the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and 10.1, Galaxy Note 10.1, Galaxy S II, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, Galaxy S Advance, Galaxy S II LTE, Galaxy Music, Galaxy Chat, Galaxy Ace 2, Galaxy Beam, Galaxy Ace Plus, Galaxy mini II and Galaxy S Duos. That should bring a bit of extra speed and smoothness to those devices, along with Google Now for search and Samsung's own flourishes from the latest TouchWiz UX. As for the rest of us, there's more than one way to skin a Smartphone -- or avoid skinning one, as the case may be.

    • When you play Path of Exile 2, items are more than just gear—they are the core of your power. No matter which build you choose, some PoE 2 items are simply must-haves if you want to level faster, survive longer, and deal higher damage. Let’s go through the most important ones, how to use them, and where to get them so you can be fully prepared. First, every player should focus on strong weapons. For melee builds, a high physical damage two-handed axe or sword can carry you through early and mid-game. For spellcasters, a wand or staff that boosts spell damage or elemental damage makes a huge difference. Don’t ignore attack speed or cast speed, as those stats let you deal more hits per second. If you plan ahead, you can buy PoE 2 items that fit your build so you don’t waste time farming endlessly. Second, armor and defenses matter just as much. A good chest piece with life, resistances, and armor or evasion will keep you alive in tough fights. Helmets that grant skill bonuses are also very valuable. Try to upgrade your gear regularly—don’t wear a low-level item for too long. Many experienced players suggest keeping backup resist rings to swap when facing bosses with strong fire, cold, or lightning attacks. This simple trick saves lives. Third, let’s talk about flasks. In PoE 2, flasks are not just healing tools. Some increase movement speed, remove curses, or give extra armor for a short time. Having the right flask setup often makes the difference between victory and death. For example, a quicksilver flask helps you move faster, while a life flask with instant recovery can save you during sudden damage spikes. These small PoE 2 items may look simple, but they are powerful tools when used wisely. Another must-have is currency items used for crafting. Even if you’re not a crafter, you should collect Orbs of Alteration, Chaos Orbs, and Exalted Orbs. These let you improve gear or trade for better equipment. Smart players often buy PoE 2 items using currency instead of relying only on random drops. This shortcut speeds up progress and lets you focus more on enjoying the game instead of grinding for hours. If you’re unsure where to start, many players recommend checking trusted marketplaces like u4gm, where you can buy PoE 2 items safely and find exactly what you need for your build. Just remember to always match your gear with your playstyle. Finally, here’s a small pro tip: always think about your next step. If you’re building a summoner, prepare minion-boosting items early. If you’re playing a bow build, invest in quivers with damage over time bonuses. Planning ahead means you never fall behind. In short, collecting the right PoE 2 items is the secret to smoother gameplay. Strong weapons, solid armor, smart flask choices, and proper crafting currency will put you ahead of other players. Whether you loot them or buy PoE 2 items, make sure you don’t miss these essentials. The earlier you prepare, the easier your journey through Wraeclast will be.
