Polyphony Digital is bringing Gran Turismo to PlayStation 4, with a strong focus on competitive online multiplayer.

"The PlayStation 4 game which we’ll likely call GT7 will be done in about a year or two." - Kazunori Yamauchi in Famitsu, November 2013.

Release History

The game was re-released on October 4th 2019 in two new physical editions; a budget PlayStation Hits edition, which only includes the base game, and a new "Spec II" version, which includes the game disc and every update until May 2019 (version 1.39) on a separate, 50GB install disc, along with 2,500,000 in-game credits and 10 Gr. 3 cars to start off with. A new intro movie was also released for the occasion.

At launch, Gran Turismo Sport's single-player campaign only consisted of three different modes, all built as teaching tools for online play. These are Driving School, which teaches the basics of racing; Mission Challenge, which puts players into specific scenarios for them to achieve specific goals; and Circuit Experience, which teaches the many tracks included in the game. As of today, only the Circuit Experience is updated regularly following every new track added. Arcade modes are still part of the game, with single races and time trials.

Two months after initial release, a new update was released with the return of the classic GT League mode of previous games, split into four categories (Beginner, Amateur, Professional, and Endurance). While they do not give prize cars, they are still a very good way to earn in-game credits.

Classic arcade modes are also available, complete with time trials and single races.

It is important to note that the classic customization component of past Gran Turismo games, where players could purchase updates for their cars such as a better engine or a better transmission, is now gone. Still, in single-player events where balance of performance is not applied, players are still permitted to tune their cars in whatever way they see fit, setting the downforce, the suspension, the drivetrain, the brakes or the transmission. They can also change the power and weight of their cars through a simple slider.

Sport Mode

The central focus of the new Gran Turismo is Sport Mode, a ranked online multiplayer mode separate from the unranked lobbies, which are still available. Every player is assigned a Driver Rating, and a Sportsmanship Rating. The Driver Rating is determined by how fast the player is; it only increases after the checkered flag, by improving starting position and by beating other, faster drivers with a higher rating. Sportsmanship rating is a bit more complicated; it only fluctuates during races, and determines how clean the player drives. The rating is impacted by contact with other players, but also by going off course. While Sportsmanship Rating increases slowing during races at each clean sector, each incident decreases the rating dramatically. Together, both Driver Rating and Sportsmanship Rating determine which group the player is going up against, with opponents with similar DR and SR.

No Caption Provided

Sport Mode is then divided into three other different modes: Daily Races, Time Trials, Nations Cup and Manufacturers Cup. Daily Races offers three weekly races starting at set intervals every 15 to 30 minutes: a 12-car sprint race, a 16-car sprint race, and a longer 20-car race with fuel consumption and tire wear. Time Trials give you a set car and track, with or without car settings permitted.

Nations Cup and Manufacturers Cup are organized in partnership with the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), the most important racing governing body in the world. Those events take place on a set race calendar, with set dates and times (giving each driver a two-hour window), and are all preceded by a ten-minute qualifying session. Only the best point finishes are tallied up for the final championship score.

With the exception of one-make races where everyone has the same vehicle, players can generally choose whichever car they want in Daily Races and the Nations Cup, as long as theirs fit into the specified racing category (Gr. 3, N300, etc.). However, for the Manufacturers Cup, the player must sign a contract each season with a manufacturer, which determines which Gr. 4 and Gr. 3 cars they will be driving. As such, the player not only competes against other, different cars, but also against players who have chosen that same racing team in their region.

The best drivers in the Nations and Manufacturers Cup are then invited to Gran Turismo e-sport events; first in regional finals split in three groups (America, Europe / Middle East / Africa, Asia and Oceania), and then in the world finals at the end of the year.

Gran Turismo Sport includes 83 track layouts split among 28 different locales. Of this number, 15 are based on famous world circuits.

With more than 75 million cumulative sales (*) around the world, Gran Turismo has revolutionized the driving game genre.

The next evolutionary step in this history-making series will soon be coming to PlayStation®4.
Get ready to be taken to new unforeseen heights with “Gran Turismo SPORT.”

That Gran Turismo SPORT will feature highly evolved graphics and sound quality, not to mention a totally revamped physics engine,
should come as no surprise. The true beauty of Gran Turismo SPORT goes much deeper, as it will forever change
the way driving games are seen. It will redefine the very definition of “gaming” and “motorsports.”

Two FIA online championships will be featured in Gran Turismo SPORT.

What makes these new series special is that the gamer has the option of either playing or simply spectating to take
in the motorsports experience as a fan. In the Nations Cup series, players can either drive for their home country
or stay on the sidelines and root their countrymen on, while the Manufacturers Cup allows them to
drive or support their favorite car maker. In both cases, the gamer is provided
with the complete motorsports experience.

And best of all, the winner of each championship will be coroneted in the same way as a real-life race winner, at a prize-giving
ceremony held by the FIA. This will mark a historic moment in video gaming as Gran Turismo
will officially be recognized as a motorsport.

kas cia katik ivyko ?  :god:

On stage, the Polyphony team talked about the advances that PS4 offers to allow them to continue to improve the graphics, physics, and sound to deliver the most realistic driving simulator to date. But with GT Sport they’re looking to deliver more than that; to deliver a revolution in the way that people experience driving games, a figurative “rebirth” of motorsports.

FIA Gran Turismo Championships

In Gran Turismo Sport, there will be two FIA online championships running simultaneously. In the Nations Cup, players will be able represent their home country. Whilst in the Manufacturers Cup, players will be driving on behalf of their favorite car manufacturer.

Players will not only be able to race as drivers themselves, they’ll also be able to root for their home country or their favorite manufacturers teams.

The winner of the championship will be awarded in the same manner as real life motorsports champions, at the FIA prize giving ceremony. This will be a historic moment, the first time a video game will officially be recognized as part of the real motoring world.

FIA Partnership

Working alongside the historic FIA, to develop a game that continues to be more realistic and authentic, the online racing championships promise to offer something new for players.

But it’s not just about online racing; the GT teams have continued to build on the games legacy of accessibility to ensure that the game is open to all to enjoy.

With the beta expected to begin in Spring 2016, it won’t be long before players can experience all GT has to offer on the power of PS4.

Gran Turismo Sport will be launched as a public beta in “early 2016”, which will presumably be distributed via PSN like other high-profile open betas

In one last part of the announcement, Kazunori Yamauchi confirmed that Polyphony Digital is working to introduce PlayStation VR support for Gran Turismo Sport. Kazunori remarked that in their testing, he has found the experience to be “very natural”.

del zaidimo garsu tai ji darys buves forza 4 garso specas. kas lose F4 tai supras.

Improved Graphics, Physics, & Sounds

This isn’t much of a surprise, but the physics will reportedly be improved to take advantage of the PS4’s additional processing power. Engine sounds have also been a priority for Polyphony Digital since the launch of Gran Turismo 6, and GTPlanet has learned the company’s new sound engineer Mike Caviezel has been hard at work to change the way the sounds are generated.

We’ll finally be able to hear his progress when we get our first hands-on look at GT Sport

tikrai keista del vitos. psp gavo GT ir labai gera netgi , kiek pralosiau, o vita ko negali tokio siek tiek prastesnio GT6 gaut? na bet dabar svarbu kas cia gausis. 3 rezimai bus kiek rase, karjera bus taigi ne vien online tikrai . tai kvepia pilnaverciu GT7 gal cia is tikro .

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's president and CEO Jim Ryan provided some clarity in the wake of Sony's conference at Paris Games Week.

"We're not announcing Gran Turismo 7 at this stage," he told Eurogamer.

"Fair to say [series director Kazunori Yamauchi] has been making these games for some considerable time now. I think it's reasonable to assume that something else might come down the road. Is it a Prologue? No, I think it'll be more than that.

"The old days, when the games were offline, the experience was defined by what's on the disc. You had a distinction between a Prologue and a full GT, it was very stark. When the game becomes more of an online connected experience, that distinction blurs. This will be much more than a Prologue type experience."

It seems like Polyphony Digital has shared a first set of artworks for their upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive game, Gran Turismo Sport. The studio shared the artworks at their annual Christmas party held at their office in Japan (you can check them out below, artworks are posted on the walls).
