Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker HD to offer online co-op

 

Four players over Xbox LIVE and PSN.

 

The HD remake of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 will allow four players to team up over Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network. The PSP original required players to access online co-op via a PS3.

 

Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima revealed the online cooperative play news this morning through a Tweet and attached image.

 

"4 people can co-op and it is 60 frames," confirmed the Tweet. "During loading, characters' dialogues pop up at random."

 

Split-screen co-op hasn't been confirmed.

 

MGS Peace Walker will be released as part of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, which also includes HD versions of Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3. Ultimate fans could opt for the Ultimate HD Collection which adds both Metal Gear Solid 1 and Metal Gear Solid 4 for the sum of £70 - "could" because the Zavvi exclusive is now sold out.

 

The collection will be released in November.

During these early days of Tokyo Game Show 2011, Konami has released new material on the Japanese version of Metal Gear Solid Collection HD.

 

Unlike the Western editions, the three chapters in Japan remastered in high definition will be divided into two distinct packs. Metal Gear Solid HD Edition will include Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Money 3: Snake Eater and will be available from November 23 to the price of 5480 yen. Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker Editon HD will be available from November 10 to the price of 4980 yen. Both versions will be for PS3 and Xbox 360 version also Limited Edition (9980 yen) and Konami Style Edition (14,980 yen).
