Nottingham-based Deep Silver Dambuster Studios to take over development of Homefront: The Revolution

Today, Koch Media together with its publishing label Deep Silver announces that it has acquired the Homefront brand and all coherent assets from Crytek. This includes Homefront: The Revolution which has been announced on 2nd June 2014. The development will be continued in newly founded, Nottingham-based Deep Silver Dambuster Studios.

“We are thrilled to see another great IP joining the Deep Silver universe,” says Dr. Klemens Kundratitz. “We strongly believe in the potential of Homefront: The Revolution and trust in the new team to continue the path we have been walking in the last years.”

Deep Silver Dambuster Studios is the third development studio within the Koch Media Group, joining Deep Silver Volition and Deep Silver Fishlabs.

Like the games industry as a whole, Crytek has been in a transitional phase. Our evolution from a development studio to an Online-Publisher has required us to refocus our strategies. These challenges go along with an increased demand for capital which we have secured.

Na buvo ziniu kol zaidima dare crytekai, bet nuo tada kai ji pereme deep silver nieko naujo kaip ir negirdet. Kas nera siaip gerai. Crytekai savo sukurto buildo matyt neatidave irgi.

   Aš darbe kaip tik varčiau game informer žurnalą. Tai ten rašė, kad Crytek turėjo bėdų su finansais, dėl to viskas užkibo. Dabar projektą perėmė kita firma, berods kuri pirmą dalį išleido. Parsisiunčiau ką tik žurnalą dėl jūsų :D Štai info:

troubled finances of original developer Crytek UK. Now under Deep Silver’s wing,
the game gives players a chance to see what life under North Korean “occupation”
might look like. The action moves to Philadelphia, away from the generic Colorado
setting of the first game. Philly was the home of revolutionaries before, and it’s clear
that a similar uprising will be simmering in this alternate version of the city.

Homefront: The Revolution 'will not be vapourware', Deep Silver promises Dambuster 'still working hard on the game', publisher assures.

 

Homefront: The Revolution has not been cancelled and will not be "vapourware", Deep Silver has promised while allaying fears over the game's troubled development.

Posting on NeoGAF, community manager Maurice Tan confirmed that "Homefront: The Revolution is still in development, now under our wing at Dambuster Studios (formerly Crytek UK).

 

"Sometimes we get questions from fans if it's going to be another Prey 2 or Duke Nukem Forever. But rest assured that the team at Dambuster is still working hard on the game and it's not going to be vapourware."

Homefront: The Revolution initially started life at Crytek UK under THQ, but was sold outright to Crytek following the publisher's closure in 2013.

Then, following financial troubles at Crytek, it was sold on to Deep Silver, with Crytek UK transitioning into a new internal studio called Deep Silver Dambuster Studios.

At the time, Deep Silver's parent company Koch Media said that it "strongly [believes] in the potential of Homefront: The Revolution and trust in the new team to continue the path we have been walking in the last years."

Deep Silver has yet to announce any change to the game's 2015 release date.

It’s been a long time since we heard anything about Homefront: The Revolution, so much so that some of us at PCGamesN were starting to worry that the great-looking open-world shooter had quietly been taken behind the sheds and shot. But that’s absolutely not the case: Deep Silver have announced that their new UK studio Deep Silver Dambuster Studios has taken the reigns on the project, and are working hard to complete it in time for next year.  

The Nottingham-based studio, headed up by Hasit Zala, is looking to ship Homefront: The Revolution in 2016. The game was originally scheduled to release this year, but the change in schedule has been made to allow Deep Silver Dambuster “every opportunity to turn Homefront: The Revolution into a best-selling title.”

This isn’t the first time that a new studio has taken command of Homefront, so here’s hoping the multiple custodians of the game doesn’t affect the quality. When Jules went to see Homefront: The Revolution last year, he found it a compelling Crysis-like shooter with an intriguing dystopian hub world.

 

Gaila, kad visi taip giria pirma dali sioje temoje, o as kaip tycia nesu isbandes ir nezinau kaip paliginti matytus antros dalies vaizdus su pirmaja. Na, kad ir kaip ten butu laiko dar bus. Svarbu, kad projektas isvystu dienos sviesa. Nes is trailerio tai tikrai viskas grazu.

Pfuuu, nors nieko naujo beveik nepamatėm, tačiau bent parodo, jog žaidimaa toliau kuriamas. Turbūt labiausiai laukiamas FPS žaidimas, ypač, jei turės MP.
